Troubleshooting

Stamp Not Appearing Correctly

Find a missing stamp, correct its placement or wording, and check the revised PDF.

First check which document, page, and saved copy you are viewing. The exhibit stamp may be set to appear only on the first page; Bates numbers and other page labels have their own settings.

The stamp is missing from a page

  1. In the finished preview, check the filename and Go to page number. If you opened an earlier version, check Saved copies in the Download Center.
  2. Choose Stamp setup to check Pages to stamp: First page only, All pages, or Specific pages. The default exhibit stamp appears on the first page only.
  3. Check the selected template and wording. If you wanted a labeled stamp, make sure Create Blank Sticker is not selected under Customize appearance & blank stickers.
  4. Choose Check placement and inspect a page where the stamp should appear. Review its size, position, and colors against the actual document.
  5. Prepare and review the updated export. Check the same page in the finished preview and saved PDF.

The stamp covers text or is in the wrong place

  1. In the finished-file preview, choose Edit Position when available. This returns to the source page for that exhibit.
  2. Drag the stamp to a clear area, or select it and use the arrow keys for small movements. Use the size controls if needed.
  3. Check Save position for all documents. When selected, the position applies across the set; otherwise each document can keep its own position.
  4. Choose Review all documents, or Review export for a single document. Inspect the revised pages before downloading.

On a contents or divider page, there is no original exhibit stamp to move. Use Stamp setup to change the relevant contents or divider settings instead.

“Complete text does not fit”

Widen the stamp or shorten the field identified by the message. ExhibitPrep will not silently remove text to make it fit. Review the full wording in the new export; do not rely on a small template thumbnail.

The preview and my saved file seem different

Check the filename and selected saved copy. Open the latest downloaded file, rather than an older copy already open in your PDF viewer. Inspect the affected page at a readable zoom. If the preview itself fails to load, choose Retry preview; see preview help.

Check the result: the correct label appears on each intended page, the full wording is readable, and the stamp does not cover document content. Check rotated, scanned, and unusually sized pages too.

If you already downloaded the set, use Revise this bundle when offered and check the displayed revision allowance. Do not start a separate purchase just to investigate a placement problem. See download recovery.
