Reviewing Pages and Preview Marks

Review the correct pages and files, make a correction, and confirm the finished result.

Check placement is for moving and sizing stamps. The finished-file preview is where you inspect the prepared PDF before downloading it.

Move through the right file

  1. Check the filename at the top of the preview.
  2. Use Previous page, Next page, or Go to page within that PDF. Enter a whole page number within the displayed range.
  3. For a set of separate PDFs, use Previous file, Next file, or Jump to exhibit to change documents.
  4. Use Browse contents, when available, to find an exhibit or section by its bookmark label or description. If there are no bookmarks, use the page controls.

PDF page numbers count from the start of the file, including contents and divider pages. They can differ from Bates numbers or printed exhibit-page labels.

Complete the review

Inspect the stamp wording, placement, and page order. For a combined PDF, check the contents page, dividers, and transitions between exhibits.

The progress message shows which required pages remain. Choose Review next required page to visit them. I reviewed this exact export becomes available after the required pages have been displayed successfully; choose it only when you have checked the content.

To review at your own pace, turn off Advance automatically between required pages. Choosing a page, opening contents, or zooming also pauses automatic movement. Automatic movement never confirms the review for you.

Correct a problem without uploading everything again

  • Placement or size: choose Edit Position when available. Adjust the stamp on the source page, then choose Review all documents or Review export to inspect the new result.
  • Labels, titles, document order, or stamp settings: choose Stamp setup in the finished preview, make the changes, and prepare a new export.
  • Contents or divider pages: use Stamp setup. These added pages do not have an original exhibit stamp to reposition.

Changes need a fresh review. A PDF you already downloaded is unchanged. If an older saved job no longer has its source PDFs, the tool explains that editing is unavailable; recover a saved project or re-add the originals as directed.

Check an earlier copy or revision

In the Download Center, Saved copies shows what is selected for preview and download. Choose another copy lists available versions. Selecting one also changes the verification record and Save project output; it does not undo your current edits.

To edit from that version, expand Edit from this copy and choose Restore as new draft when available. What changed in this copy? and Changes since your last download summarize changes to saved sources and settings. They are not visual comparisons of every page. Use Show all changes for a longer list.

Compare the pages of two saved copies

After confirming a finished download, open Preparation record & reviewer handoff in the Download Center. When a preceding saved copy is available, choose Compare pages with the preceding copy.

Choose the document to compare. Complete PDF (including generated pages) is available when both versions are PDFs. A larger comparison window opens. The earlier copy appears beside the selected copy; on a narrow screen it appears above it. Choose Enlarge earlier copy page or Enlarge selected copy page, then Larger view, to inspect details. Escape closes the enlarged page and returns you to comparison. Each has its own page control, so you can line up pages after an insertion or removal.

This is a visual comparison of the actual prepared pages, not automatic difference detection. It does not highlight every change or compare your brief. Use References to review again to identify changed labels, source documents, combined page positions, or Bates assignments that may affect citations. Check the relevant references in your other documents yourself.

If comparison is unavailable: the preceding copy may not be retained in this browser, or there may be no reliably dated earlier copy. Open the saved PDFs in your usual PDF viewer. Do not assume matching filenames mean matching contents. If a page does not load within 30 seconds, use the saved PDF to complete the comparison.

Preview marks or a loading error

EXHIBITPREP · PREVIEW marks can appear without an active license. They are not added to downloaded PDFs. If you already paid, check Billing & License and activate an available license. A used Single Use license may cover the existing paid files without covering new work.

If the page does not load, choose Retry preview. Keep the workspace open. The error does not alter the prepared file, and a page that failed to display does not complete the required review. See download recovery if you also need to recover a saved file.

Check the result: the preview identifies the intended file, all required pages are reviewed, and you have checked the actual wording and placement before confirming. After downloading, open the saved PDF too.
