Getting Started
Document Privacy and Saved Work
Understand what stays in your browser, where backups live, and how to ask for help safely.
Your documents are processed in your browser. ExhibitPrep does not upload their contents to a document-processing server. This includes the PDFs and case text used to create your stamps.
Keep a copy you control
- Finish the download and open the saved PDF or ZIP to check it.
- If you need to reopen a supported saved copy for editing, choose Save project in the download area. Keep the
.exhibitprepfile with your matter records. - Keep your original source files too. A project contains the source PDFs used for stamping; converted images or other files are not preserved in their native formats.
- Before deleting browser data or changing computers, check that your finished files and project copy are saved somewhere you can access.
A project contains document contents, filenames, and case settings. Protect it as you would the source documents. See saving and reopening projects.
What sign-in does and does not save
Payments, license checks, purchase recovery, optional sign-in, and operational analytics use online services. Stripe handles payment details; ExhibitPrep keeps purchase and license records. Sign-in can save selected preferences, such as your template and export choice.
Signing in does not synchronize your document files. Recent jobs and local recovery copies belong to this browser on this device. Closing a tab clears working memory; completed recovery copies are generally removed 30 days after creation. Unfinished deliveries and active revision windows can remain longer. Browser cleanup, private browsing, or a different browser profile can make saved work unavailable sooner.
If your saved work is missing
- Check Recent jobs in the same browser and profile used to prepare the documents.
- If you saved a project, add its
.exhibitprepfile to the document upload area. - If you still need access to a purchase, use purchase recovery. It restores purchase access, not documents from our servers.
- If no document copy remains, return to your source files. Do not clear an open workspace while a save or confirmation is unresolved.
Ask for help without sending confidential material
The issue-report form prepares text for you to review and send from your email app. It does not automatically attach documents, browser logs, or license keys. Remove client details, passwords, and payment-card information before sending.
Operational error reports use controlled categories, application versions, counts, and static code locations. Document names, labels, contents, and credential links are excluded.
Our on-device privacy statements describe ExhibitPrep’s own document-processing service, provided on a best-effort basis. They are not a guarantee of the privacy or security of your entire device. Browsers, extensions, operating systems, cloud-sync or backup services, malware, and other software may independently access, store, or transmit information. ExhibitPrep does not control their behavior.
