eFileGA / PeachCourt Requirements

Exhibits must be numbered serially starting with 1. No letters for defendants. No alphabetical or numerical subparts permitted (no Exhibit 1A, 1B).

Sufficient Particularity

Exhibits must be specifically identified with sufficient particularity for opposing parties to identify them for objection purposes.

Strictest 1.5 MB Limit

Georgia has the smallest file size limit among major jurisdictions at 1.5 MB per document. Most exhibits require compression or splitting.

Digital Format for Reporter

Fulton County requires counsel to provide documentary evidence in digital format (scanned individually) and emailed to court reporter.

Accepted File Formats

  • PDF format required
  • 1.5 MB per document (smallest limit)
  • Serial numbering only (1, 2, 3...)
  • No alphabetical or numerical subparts

Common eFileGA Filing Issues

1.5 MB Limit Exceeded

Georgia has the strictest limit. Heavily compress images or split multi-page exhibits into separate files. Most exhibits will need optimization.

Used Letters for Defendants

Georgia is unique: all exhibits use numbers only (1, 2, 3...), even for defendants. Do not use A, B, C. This is strictly enforced per USCR 7.2.

Used Subparts (1A, 1B)

USCR 7.2 prohibits alphabetical or numerical subparts. Each exhibit must be separately numbered. Instead of Exhibit 1A and 1B, use Exhibit 1 and Exhibit 2.

Wrong E-Filing System

Check your county: Fulton/DeKalb/Gwinnett use eFileGA (Odyssey). Cobb and rural counties use PeachCourt. They are separate systems.

Frequently Asked Questions about eFileGA

What is the eFileGA file size limit?

Georgia has the smallest file size limit among major jurisdictions at 1.5 MB per document. This applies to both eFileGA (Odyssey) and PeachCourt systems. Most exhibits will require image compression or splitting into multiple files to meet this strict limit.

Why does Georgia use numbers only for all parties?

Georgia USCR 7.2 requires serial numbering only, starting with 1. Unlike other states, defendants do not use letters (A, B, C) or D-1, D-2 format. All parties use sequential numbers: plaintiff exhibits 1-10, defendant exhibits 11-20, etc. This is unique to Georgia.

Can I use exhibit subparts like 1A and 1B in Georgia?

No. USCR 7.2 specifically prohibits alphabetical or numerical subparts. You cannot use Exhibit 1A, 1B or Exhibit 1-1, 1-2. Each exhibit must have its own serial number. Instead of Exhibit 1A and 1B, you must number them as Exhibit 1 and Exhibit 2.

What is the difference between eFileGA and PeachCourt?

eFileGA (Odyssey system) is used by Fulton, DeKalb, and Gwinnett counties. PeachCourt is used by Cobb County and many rural Georgia counties. They are separate e-filing systems with different interfaces, but both follow the same USCR rules and have the same 1.5 MB file size limit.

Does Fulton County have special exhibit requirements?

Yes. Fulton County Superior Court requires counsel to provide documentary evidence in digital format, with each document scanned individually, and emailed to the court reporter. This is in addition to e-filing through eFileGA. Check with your assigned court reporter for their email address and format preferences.
