EXHIBITPREP · VENDOR REVIEW
Prepare exhibits on your device. Understand the boundaries.
Product disclosure reviewed October 4, 2026. Save or print this brief using your browser’s Print command. Your firm determines whether the service meets its requirements.
Where information goes
- Your source files → your browser → your downloaded documents. PDF processing occurs locally. ExhibitPrep does not send document bytes to a processing server.
- Your browser → local recovery storage. Recent Jobs can hold document copies on this device. This is separate from cloud storage and is not a substitute for your firm’s backup.
- Your browser → online services. Payment, licensing, sign-in, selected account defaults, usage analytics and operational error reporting use network services. Local PDF processing does not make checkout or account recovery an offline service.
Storage and deletion
Completed recovery copies are generally removed from this browser 30 days after creation. Unfinished deliveries and active revision windows can remain longer to protect paid access. Delete a job from Recent Jobs when it is no longer needed.
Clearing browser data, private browsing, or changing devices can make local copies unavailable. Preserve the final documents and a portable project in your approved matter workspace. Deleting a browser job does not delete separately downloaded files, device backups, or payment records. Follow your firm’s retention instructions.
Services and access
- Payments
- Stripe handles card processing. ExhibitPrep uses purchase and licensing records to provide paid access and support. Financial records are separate from your exhibits.
- Account and operations
- Sign-in, saved account defaults, analytics, and diagnostics use online services. Controlled operational error reports exclude document names, labels, contents, and credential links. Ask support for the current provider details, contractual terms, and retention answers your procurement process requires; this brief is not a complete subprocessor schedule.
- Your device
- Browser extensions, operating-system features, malware, and cloud backups can independently access or transmit information. Review them under your firm’s device policy. Local processing does not guarantee the security of the entire device.
Support without disclosing the matter
Start with a purchase or Bundle ID, browser version, the affected step, and a description without client information. Never send card details, license keys, recovery links, or an unredacted network log. Use a synthetic example where possible. Arrange an appropriate support channel before sharing confidential files or screenshots.
For an interrupted download, keep the original browser open and follow download recovery before purchasing again. Available corrections and paid access are shown in the product; this brief does not extend a purchase’s terms.
What remains your firm’s responsibility
- Review the finished PDF, applicable filing instructions, confidentiality, redactions, and any protective order.
- Run OCR separately when scanned pages must be searchable. Stamping does not perform OCR; correction tape is not secure redaction.
- Keep signed originals. A prepared copy is a new output; review any effect on digital signatures before using it.
- Evaluate any required vendor agreement, security assessment, or BAA. Team administration, SSO, customer audit logs, and custom integrations are not included in self-service plans.
Firm approval checklist
- Confirm the browser, device, storage location, and backup settings are approved.
- Prepare a nonconfidential sample; inspect it in the firm’s PDF viewer and print a page in grayscale.
- Test a revision, a saved project, and recovery on the intended device.
- Review account, payment, service-provider, and retention questions with the appropriate firm owner.
- Identify the person who checks the final packet before filing. Record open questions and the decision in the firm’s own approval record.
Evidence boundary: local automated checks do not establish independent certification, every-browser compatibility, successful court filing, or completion of observed customer research. Request evidence for the specific version and environment you plan to use.
